LEAD: The News Corporation Ltd., the media and entertainment concern controlled by Rupert Murdoch and based in Sydney, Australia, has reduced its stake in Reuters Holdings P.L.C. to 3.8 percent, from 9.5 percent. News Corporation said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that its holdings in the news agency, based in London, were reduced as the result of an exchange offer with preferred shareholders.

LEAD: Advanced Micro Devices Inc. introduced its own version of the Intel Corporation's 80286 microprocessor, which the company said is 28 percent faster than other versions of the chip. LEAD: David H. Murdock, chairman of Castle & Cook Inc., said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that he held a 7.3 percent stake in Allegheny International Inc. Mr. Murdock said he holds 140,550 shares of Allegheny's Series C convertible preferred shares, according to the filing. An Allegheny spokesman declined comment on Mr.
