Alan Coren (27 June 1938 – 18 October 2007) was an English writer, humorist, broadcaster and satirist. He was a regular panellist on the BBC Radio quiz The News Quiz and a team captain on BBC television's Call My Bluff. Coren was the editor of Punch for almost a decade; later, he edited The Listener magazine.

Assuming that the Zoe Akins-Lili Hatvany "I Am Different" eventually reaches Broadway, it will bring Fritzi Scheff for her first local appearance since the 1929 revival of "Mile. Modiste." She will have a leading role in support of Tallulah Bankhead, the play's star.

That ambitious schedule of Vinton Freedley's is now smaller by one project than it was before. He has abandoned plans to produce the musical called "Greek to You," for which Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay had prepared-or at least outlined-a libretto based on a story by Lowell Brentano and William Jourdan Rapp. Some sort of settlement will be arranged with Billy Gilbert, who was to have been chief comic of the festival.

" Dust Be My Destiny," by Jerome Odlum, has been purchased by Warners as a vehicle for John Garfield (formerly Jules), Gloria Dickson, Humphrey Bogart and John Litel. The story will have as its final scene the murder of three men.
